One of these things is not like the other

My boobs that is...what a crazy week the ladies have had! Last Saturday I came down with a case of mastitis. The mastitis escalated into a nasty infection, fever, body aches, puss, blood, wow it was nasty. One doctor wanted to send me straight to the E.R. Thankfully my doctor was a little more laid back and just wanted me to take antibiotics around the clock. I was sent from his office to Sugar Land for an ultrasound to make sure I did not have an abscess. I should get the results from that on Monday. If they find an abscess it would mean surgery so lots of prayers about that one. I am sure that wont be the case though, I really thing things are clearing up on their own. I have been totally out of whack this week and poor Curtis has been such a trooper about having a grouchy, no fun, mommy! Jacob has been amazing at picking up my slack and has made sure that Curtis has gotten out of the house at least once daily for a fun activity of some sort. Thank God for having such an amazing husband!!! Hopefully this week will be much improved!

Amazing sleeping boy

Curtis has been a CRAZY sleeping boy this week...who is this child and what have you done to my son??? Most people have babies that sleep most of the day when you bring them home from the hospital...not Curtis! Most toddlers take a few naps a day, not Curtis! He has never been much of a sleeper (definetly got that from Jacob and not me!) Is it possible that he is making up for lost time this week?? Yesterday he took two naps totaling four and half hours and today he is still working on a total of four hours. Seriously, is it possible for him to finally be a normal napper? Hah! Actually I always thought I would really like for him to be a more normal napper, but now that he is doing it I miss him like crazy! I am totally not used to having so much time to myself. I have no idea what to do with all this free time. So I joined facebook...thats a way to waste time!

By the way Jacob and I got all but one shelf built in our garage last night! We are finally making some head way in that crazy mess of ours. Curtis helped out by keeping busy riding the weed eater!

Fun Friday with Nana!

What a fun Friday we had with Nana today!!! We started the day at the children's museum and ended at the zoo. The museum has a wonderful area called the "tot spot" made especially for babes under two. It was absolutely perfect for Curtis, lots of doors to open, stairs to climb, toys to ride, and lots and lots of balls to throw. The zoo was wonderful as usual, the elephants were still Curtis's favorite! Curtis's personality has really shinned this week and I am thrilled to see what a sweet little boy he is becoming. He has been amazing at sharing his toys and continues to be gentle even when provoked. Today at the museum when a little one pushed him out of the way he just looks at me with a hurt little face and then smiles at the babe as if to say "I forgive you" and continues to play. He is a really sensitive little boy and is always so crushed when one of his friends is rough with him. So far he hasn't shown one ounce of anger towards his friends. I pray that this gentleness continues!!!!! He is a wonderful little boy and I am so blessed that God has trusted me with him! Check out our Fun Friday pictures on the picassa site.

Sick Bay & Ash Wednesday

Hello fellow bloggers...we are alive I promise! I got a mild case of mastitis last week, then curtis got sick, then I got whatever he had, too much sickness for one house!! We were thrilled to get up and out of the house some this week. Too many days inside make for a cranky Curtis and mommy! We are looking forward to a busy weekend. We are teaching a Natural Family Planning class tomorrow morning in Sugar Land. This is class two in a three class series so we are looking forward to seeing all of our clients again. Then on Sunday the entire Counts clan is going to head to JCPenney for some giant family pictures. We wanted to do these pictures for Jan and Daryl for Christmas and just now found a date good for everyone. Get excited because I have a great Valentine's day post planned for next week...I know the suspense is going to get to you! Enjoy the pic of Curtis with his ashes. Have a great weekend!
