Excuse me for stealing this idea from lots of other bloggers! I have always loved reading other peoples daybooks because it really is a neat way to see into someones thoughts. Also, I have never been very good at managing my own thoughts so maybe I can get a clearer picture of myself from this as well. And i like to write really long run on sentences as i spew out rambling thoughts without the proper punctuation sorry, that's just me. I promise I know better, spent way too many nights in college punished to the writing center memorizing rules about commas and such. Doesn't mean I have to use those rules though! I hope to do this often but....we shall see if that really happens!
Outside my window: There is a huge disaster of a backyard. The boys had a water fight as I cleaned up from dinner tonight. I gave them each a Popsicle just before baths and then enjoyed watching them sit at the picnic table together making each other laugh with the many ways they could lick their pops...reminded me of that old tootsie pop commercial with the owl. Sticks are now on the ground along with the other 30 toys we were playing with!
I am listening to: Silence. Lots of time to myself in the evenings since Jacob has been gone this week and last.
I am wearing: My favorite super comfy way too big jammies. I bought them just before my surgery because they have a high neckline. This still comes in handy as every time Nick sees my scar he obsesses over mommy's owie until I cover it again. Sometimes as I put him to bed he wakes up just long enough to see it, says owwie...kisses it and then falls asleep.
I am thankful for: Brothers! The boys normally always nap at the same time but today Nicky was up super early and so nap times were staggered apart. They both asked for each other while awake and were very eager to play when they were both finally up at the same time. I love the voice that Curtis uses to say good morning to Nick when he wakes up from naps. He loves to sprint to Nicks room as soon as we hear him over the monitor and helps him get off the bed and then holds his hand as they walk to me. SO thankful that they are like this 90% of the time!
I am pondering: Martha's feast day on Friday. I feel like in the life of a stay at home Mom I am constantly jumping between Mary and Martha, balancing very carefully the housework and trying to stay focused on the reason behind the work at hand.
I am reading: Nothing, sadly. NFP has called me to my computer a lot this week and I am thankful for all the opportunities that presented themselves to share this gift with others. Once things calm back down after NFP awareness week is over I hope to go back to reading Homeward Bound.
From the kitchen: Not too much cooking without Jacob around trying to keep it simple to cut down on prep. We homemade a pizza and some squash tonight that's always a staple when Jacobs gone, we all love it and the boys can both help me prepare.
I am creating: A growth chart for my boys finally! I made quite a few girly ones for friends and family this Christmas. It took me a long time to figure out a way to make theirs cute without flowers or bows or glitter!
Towards Education: Major work going on there. My online shopping cart is full of fun activities and curriculum for the fall. I moved the hutch out of our bedroom and into the school room and filled it with lots of school supplies and most importantly safe doors to hide markers in...too many mishaps to count with Nick and markers! This week has already been easier knowing that he can play in there unsupervised again. I am really happy with the current arrangement in there and was giddy to get to use my label maker again :)
Gonna have to call it a night...wow that took way longer than I thought! Sweet dreams!
