Curtis is a big brother!!!!

That's right, I'm pregnant!!! Jacob and I will welcome our newest little blessing sometime around Christmas Eve. Maybe our little one will share Christ's birthday! We are thrilled beyond belief and can not wait to see all the joys our precious baby will have in store for us. Many more posts to come on baby number two!!!

I had a wonderful birthday...can't believe I am a quarter of a century! The whole family came over to celebrate. It is an awesome thing to have all of our family in town! Kristy looks beautiful by the way...baby Kaylee is finally on display (check out the Picasa pictures)

I had the opportunity to see all of my old students at a deaf co-op picnic last week. It was so much fun to see the looks on their faces when they got off the bus and realized I was there. I absolutely love these kiddos and I think about them all the time. It was great to see that they are all doing well and growing like weeds! I really enjoyed seeing them interact with Curtis as well. You can really tell how much someone loves you by the way they love your children just because they are a part of you! The kids were adorable with Curtis and enjoyed entertaining him with bubbles and beach balls...Curtis was thrilled!

If you looks closely you can see Curtis's spots in this picture. We just got back from the pediatric dermatologist and Curtis's skin funk is no big deal. Yeah for that good news! That darn rash has stuck around for six weeks now. Naturally by the time we could get in to see the dermatologist it was almost completely gone! At least there was enough for the doctor to see the remnants of the rash and assure us that everything is okay. Just some kind of viral abnormal pediatric roseacia, should go away on its own no problem.

We taught a HUGE NFP class on Saturday (19 couples!!!) that was a lot of fun. It is a great thing for Jacob and I to do together. We love to meet all the engaged couples and remember what it was like to be in their shoes.

Curt Burt has been sick the past two days :( He just can't keep any fluids inside that little body of his. Hopefully he will be on the mend here shortly.

That's about it for now. Jacob's birthday is Sunday so we should have more fun posts next week!

Thanks Mom!

Happy labor day mom! Thank you for all the hard work you did on this day in order to bring me into this world! Since becoming a mother myself I have come to realize that birthdays are also labor days, and I must give credit where credit is due!!! Giving birth to a baby is no easy feat! Whether you had a two hour labor, a thirty hour labor, un-medicated, epidural-ed, c-section, midwife, or hospital birth, you are a hero!!!! God created women in such a perfect way that we are vessels for new life. What a glorious honor we have to carry his precious children in our womb! And then we have all the tools necessary to bring that precious child into the world...with just the bodies that God gave us! Birth is a truly miraculous event and every mother that has ever been through it deserves a huge thank you! So thank you mom!!! You were a trooper through my entire labor (un-medicated by the way!) back labor and all. Thank you Dad for standing up through the entire labor rubbing mom's back with a tennis ball and no potty breaks! I love you both very much! See you all tonight!

Seriously, how great is it to have a boy?! He is so much fun to watch get dirty! He had the best time stomping in the mud puddles and picking up sticks yesterday. I absolutely love that he is truly a boy at the ripe old age of 15 months! By the way Curtis was amazing in mass again today, even fell asleep in my arms during the homily!!! Thank you God for answered prayers!

Easter Blessings

Easter Sunday was miraculous in more than one way for our family! Obviously miraculous is the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior. What a beautiful day to remember and reflect upon Christ's Resurrection every year! Jacob and I absolutely love the tradition of the Tridium and going to mass on Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday is something we really enjoy...but how do you do that with a 15 month old??? We stressed and fretted over the late mass times which conflicted with bed time. We prayed and pondered on how to keep him entertained for the notoriously beautiful and intricate (read LONG) masses. Good Friday arrived, we dressed all in red, game plan in hand, and failed miserably! We ended up leaving early with a very unhappy Curtis and a totally stressed out Mom & Dad. We regrettably opted out of Holy Saturday mass due to the late mass time seriously conflicting with bed time. The only mass we had left was Easter Sunday. Sunday arrived all too quickly and the memories of Good Friday's issues were all too fresh in our minds. Wouldn't you know it, he was AMAZING!!!! He enjoyed the mass thoroughly, especially the renewal of the baptism vows where the priest's sprinkle the congregation with holy water, repeatedly saying "more, more" after the priest sprinkled our row! He pointed to the cross, said "Jesus" and was just perfect. Thank you God for recognizing our limitations as parents! Visit with the Harrisons

Holy Thursday was a wonderful day!!! Curtis's Godparents were in town so we made the trip up to Spring to visit with them. Baby Luke is absolutely amazing! He is such a well tempered little one...just what Kelly needed after having such a spirited child in Drew! Tomorrow we will head to Sugar Land for Good Friday communion service then back again for Easter Sunday. Should be a nice weekend with family. Hope you have a wonderful Easter as well!

Update

The doctor just called and it looks like everything is healing up well on its own, no surgery needed! Thank God! Another week of antibiotics and hopefully everything will be back to normal again. Thanks for your prayers!
